funding their membership fee, attendance once a week and one hot meal a week. This is life changing for many of our members.
Could give young people access to 2,500 hours’
worth of sport, art, music, cooking and more, providing fun, development, and boosting physical and mental health.
Could pay for a development programme,
such as Young Leaders or Youth Ambassadors, that support young people to enhance their life skills and prospects.
We always value the support from indivduals as well as community and corporate groups – and this can be done in a number of ways whether through fundraising challenges to financial donations or even volunteering your time to support young people. Find out more below on how you could support us.

Coming to Legacy has been such a great stress reliever for me; I really like coming each week during a 121 and either play for fun or improve on my technique on both the drums and tuba. I can literally play whatever I like and what I’m in the mood for – the staff are really accommodating. Legacy has made me feel confident in playing in front of other people as a solo musician and not just within a band, and I can now play in front of a lot of other people and it’s been nice to get good feedback.
My youngest one goes to Croydon Youth Zone once or twice per week, and it’s having a great impact on him. He has learned to lift weights – he can lift twice his own weight (he can now lift twice my weight!) and is so proud of his achievements. He has additional needs, has been attending the ‘Inclusion’ sessions and the welcoming youth workers have succeeded in engaging him where nearly every other kind of extra-curricular activity has failed. It has been a huge relief to us as parents! After the first lockdown he started going out and was getting into serious trouble on our local estates and having the Youth Zone as a safe place for him to hang out and do fun stuff has been a genuine life-saver. He is feels a great connection with the Junior Club lead (Mikhail) and one of the gym youth workers (Nick). He recently graduated as a Young Leader at Legacy after attending 5 weeks of training (unheard of commitment!) and is now so proud to help in the Juniors club. As he is applying for college it is something he can genuinely talk about with enthusiasm on his application form.
When you join the Legacy Legend family, you will join a special group of people that support us each month, to ensure all barriers to an array of opportunities are broken down, so all young people in Croydon can access them.
